Physical Attributes and Materials Used - 2-storey semi-detached houses and terraced houses.
- Medium pitch gable roof covered with concrete tiles.
- Concrete strip footings. Brick under building. Concrete slab extended to form plinth.
- RC column corners and concrete intermediate columns. RC ring beams at first floor and RC large spine Beams.
- External walls contain standard brick tied to frame with glavanised steel wires.
- Seperating wall consists of RC corner columns and ring beams and concrete intermediate column. Timber framed cavity wall lined with bituminous paper and 2 layers of plasterboard.
- Partitions are made of plaster panels
- Ground Floor is made of concrete
- First floor made of timber boarding on timber joists.
- Ceilings are made of plasterboard.
Areas which are defective - Concrete cover to steel reinforcement minimal or absent in places.
- Corrosion of wire wall ties tying brickwork to RC columns.
